Doors: common questions
Something we didn’t cover? Call (630) 901-6361 and ask Anna directly.
Steel, fiberglass or wood: which entry door is best?
Steel is the most secure for the money, fiberglass resists dents and weather with almost no maintenance and can look like real wood, and wood offers the richest look but needs refinishing over time. We'll help you weigh looks, budget and exposure to sun and weather.
Can you replace just the door, or the whole frame?
Either. If the frame is solid we can often swap the door slab, but most of the time a full pre-hung replacement seals better and lasts longer. We'll tell you which makes sense after we look at it.
How long does a door installation take?
Most single entry or patio doors are installed in one day, so you're never left without a secure door overnight.
Do new doors come with a warranty?
Yes. Manufacturer warranties cover the door itself and our written workmanship warranty covers the installation.
